This litter is the bomb so far! Our Balinese kittens have switched easily and there is very little dust! And from what I read, it will work when we get our litter robot!
Would recommend this litter for adult cats. Not a lot of tracking and clumps well. No intense smells noticed. Would buy again.
So disappointed in this litter, I wanted it to be right for us but the smell is awful and was so strong that my cat started refusing the litter box. We started with unscented, but I think the tofu just has a strong smell. We added an activated charcoal powder, which made it a little better, but the whole apartment just smells funky even with an air purifier going 24/7 and windows open at every opportunity. My cat has no issue with the texture and it works well in the automated box, but don't think we can keep handling the smell. (The scented one wasn't better.) Also it doesn't form a tight ball/ clump like in the video, more of a cow patty shape and it got stuck to the bottom of the manual box. Really disappointed because I wanted this to be the answer for eco-friendly cat litter.
It works well in the litter robot 4. Only downside i would say is that it sticks to the rubber globe, so you might want to increase the time it wait between you cats visit and the cycling.
Like most long time cat owners, I've tried a wide variety of litters over the years. So many brands advertise that they're "low tracking" or "99.9% dust free" and I've never really found a litter that actually lived up to those features...until now. SoySand is hands down my new favorite litter and I can confidently say that it is indeed practically dust free and low tracking! First off, I have a Litter Robot 4 with the Litter Hopper attachment, and this litter works great with it. No technical issues there whatsoever. Now the litter itself -- I got the scented version and love it. The scent doesn't smell overly strong or perfumed like other scented litters and the odor control here is phenomenal. I never smell a thing from my litter box. My favorite qualities about SoySand and is that it is truly low tracking and dust free. Prior to SoySand I was using a corn based litter (World's Best), which was fine but it still had some tracking and constantly left a yellow-ish dust residue which was extremely prominent on dark surfaces. I've found none of those issues with SoySand. In terms of tracking, it is extremely low. I'll find a couple specks of litter in a small immediate area around the litter box (which is to be expected of any litter), but outside of that I haven't found any litter in my apartment. I also have yet to see any noticeable dust residue anywhere. I also love the fact that SoySand is very lightweight, which means it lasts much longer for automatic litter boxes that rely on weight sensors to determine if the waste drawer bins are full. I have 2 cats and 1 litter robot, and when I use regular clay litter I found myself having to empty the waste drawer every 4-5 days, but with SoySand, I'm able to go almost a full week before having to empty the waste drawer. The fact that this is made of eco-friendly soy and is septic safe is just the cherry on top for me. Yes, $39.99 for 12lbs is definitely on the pricier side when it comes to litter but it is 10000% worth it for all the benefits it gives you, not to mention the litter does last longer than a lot of other litters. Plus, if you subscribe for regular SoySand shipments you get a discount so the $39.99 price drops to $33.99! I can't stop raving about SoySand and can't recommend it enough!! This is a must buy!!
Works well in the Litter Robot. Odor control is the best that I have seen outside of using pine chips (which don't work with the litter robot).
I really like this version of cat litter! It’s a breeze to scoop, clumps well, has NO SMELL, doesn’t track but a few pieces, and did I mention it doesn’t smell!? Nor is there dust. And it lasts a REALLY long time!! True convert from all other litters. I don’t imagine I’ll ever stop using it.
We have 4 cats (we originally had 2, but took in my dad’s cats when he could no longer care for them), so we’ve tried our fair share of litter over the years.
We were previously using Sustainably Yours, which we liked overall, but it clumped very hard. That sounds like a good thing, but it actually made scooping a bit of a hassle—it would stick to the bottom of our stainless steel litter boxes and took some effort to remove.
I first came across Soy Sand at events like CatCon and the Del Mar Cat Show, and decided to give it a try—and I’m so glad I did.
So far, it’s been our favorite litter. The odor control is excellent without that overpowering “chemical” scent (we use the unscented version). One of our cats is a senior with arthritis, and we noticed right away that she seems much more comfortable using this litter—the texture is softer and gentler on her paws.
As for tracking, it’s pretty minimal. It doesn’t travel too far outside the box, especially if you have a litter mat nearby. Honestly, I think every litter tracks at least a little, so that hasn’t been a dealbreaker for us—we just stay on top of cleaning and it’s totally manageable.
Overall, if you’re looking for a natural litter that’s effective, low-odor, and a bit easier on sensitive paws, this one has been a great find for our household.
Nice clumping and works great so far with the litter robot 4.
This litter is so much nicer than any other type. Reason being, it’s more hygienic for cats and humans both. Clay litter has two main issues. Significant dust production and small bits coming off the clumps when scooping to re-soil the litter which creates a dirty smelly box (as well as cat) unless all the litter is completely discarded regularly. The soysand litter has neither of those problems. Next to zero dust and no leftover unscoopable bits. The litter is fresh all the time and so are the cats! Both boys transitioned to the tofu litter without any difficulty and are definitely pleased with this litter as much as I am.
I love Soysand! It smells great, my cats like it, and it works perfectly inside my automatic litter boxes. I only use natural, non-clay litters and this is the best one out there by far - both for clumping and odor control. Never using a different litter ever again!
I have been looking for low tracking dust free litter that works with litter robot. Finally found it. GREAT CLUMPING. Sometimes it will stick to the side of the litter box but really comes right off in a
Clump that holds together
This is by far the best litter I have found so far. Got a Litter Robot a year ago and had to switch from wood based litter, but could not buy clay. One of my cats has allergies and the other has asthma, and it’s been completely safe for them and the Litter Robot! The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because when my cats run out of the litter robot, they sprinkle the bits around even though I have a big mat down and that’s pretty annoying but honestly that’ll happen with all litters. Absolutely recommend this to everyone!
Great product ! No dust, no unpleasant perfumes and limited tracking! The price point is excellent and I like the large bags.
Good odor control. The size of the bags is easy to lift, although they are more difficult to open than necessary.
Doesn’t track but makes the house smell like a farm for some reason.
Finally a tofu litter that works in a robot litter box! It keeps smells away amazingly. Because it’s expensive for the amount I cut it with unscented clay litter. It works very well for clumping. It does track but every single litter I’ve tried (and there’s been a lot) have tracked. Some worse than others. This one’s not terrible.
This is definitely the best litter I've ever used! It works in my Litter Robot 3, and in my Popur S7 automatic litter box. Unfortunately, only one of my cats will actually use the litter, the other two don't like it so I still have regular clay litter out for the other two. This litter has truly zero dust (until the automatic litter boxes have pulverized it a bit, but then it's time to change the litter anyway). And I use this for my stinky foster kittens, it absorbs smell very well! Especially for the sick little ones who have parasites/worms. I just wish my other two cats would use it. I've tried scented and unscented. If you're trying to decide between the two for a possibly picky cat, I'd go with unscented.
So glad that SoySand is a natural product that works with my LitterRobot. The purchase of the LitterRobot was dependent on finding a natural clumping litter that was unscented.
Tofu litter is expensive but SoyKitty is by far the best I’ve found price wise. No litter is perfect on its own so I do a 1:1 ratio with walnut shells to keep smell down. The subscription is great and right on time every time, it’s mostly good with smell, super easy to clean, and my cat loves it.
A lot better in terms of tracking and cleanliness compared to traditional clumping litter but unfortunately there is a LOT wasted when it comes to using it for my Litter Robot 4. Possibly because the individual pieces are too large, a lot of “clean” litter gets dumped into the waste bin below which means you’ll go through the litter quickly. This is a problem because it’s not cheap! That’s the biggest draw back.
I like this litter because is tofu and works for my LR4 but it leaves so much trace outside of the box.
